COMPETITION OVERVIEWOverviewWe’re looking for the best student SolidWorks modellers in the UK! The grand prize winners will be offered a 2 month, paid, summer placement at Innovate Product Design, a vibrant design consultancy and the UK’s leading invention development company. All you need to do is submit your best CAD models, created in SolidWorks. For more details, read on.
The BriefTo enter the competition, simply produce an excellent CAD model in SolidWorks, in one of our four categories. These categories are:
Your model can be an assembly or a part, and can be modelled in any version of SolidWorks. You can enter as many models as you wish, but each one must only be listed under one category. Closing Date: 31st March 2010
EntryEntry to the competition is completely free. Only students enrolled onto a UK Higher Education course are eligible to enter – should your entry become shortlisted, we will ask you to provide proof of your enrolment. Your entry will be competing against other students from the same university year group. In detail, these year groups are:

JudgingThe competition will be judged by some of the UK’s leading SolidWorks professionals. These will include top SolidWorks trainers, SolidWorks professional certified users and several design consultancy directors. Entries will be judged on:
The winners are likely to be models of existing products, as the competition is about CAD modelling rather than design.
WinnersThere will be one grand prize winner in each year group. The overall winner of each group will be offered a 2 month, paid, summer placement at Innovate Product Design. Once the models are uploaded onto Cadooku you will also benefit from the potential to sell your models to users of the website who are looking to purchase high quality SW models. PublicityThere will be some great publicity opportunities for winners and highly commended entries.
